New Law Affects Job Hunters
A new federal law has been enacted in the U.S. that forces companies with more than 50 employees to adhere to standards aimed at allowing the government to track the diversity of their applicants.
The new standards will affect how job seekers apply for jobs, particularly online. It is recommended that you read the following article to learn more about how this senseless law will waste company's time and make job searching more difficult and confusing for applicants. Job Hunting Online Gets Trickier |

There are times when I wish I was living in America, but your politicians have such unbelievable power! Even here in Jamaica our politicians would be crazy to try something like that, but then we bribe, I mean lobby our politicians better lol

I can't think of any reason anybody would want to live here. This country is a complete mess and probably on the verge of a meltdown. I have done a fair amount of travelling, and there are much better places to live. The U.S. is not the beacon of freedom it pretends to be - we have more laws than any civilization ever and continue to make new ones constantly- each law further restricting our freedoms and/or making life more difficult.
But that's just my opinion and it is certainly worse in plenty of places, for now.. Smile |

I can't believe this, as if finding a job, especially starting out in a new field isn't hard enough.
By the way, reading the article I didn't find anything in it that had to do with tracking "diversity". It just looks like another way for the government to flex their muscles and interfere with the "evil" corporations. (Who supply jobs by the way.) Brian |

Well, I still believe this country is the greatest to live in, however this is not the forum for that! Very Happy
I do think this is the most rediculuous law I have seen passed in a long time. It has no diversity tracking and is going to cost companies thousands of dollars, which they will not be able to any of us. The companies bottom lines do not get affected because they will short new employees on pay and/or benefits. So how exactly is this going to be good for anyone, no matter how diverse a company is? Sure there will be a blend of ethnicities (so says unkie sam, though I don't see how) but we will still be poor. Just my two cents. |
