My local New Horizons center offers the RFID course for about $2500. You are in the classroom for 1 week and then you get to take the exam. They say they can help with job placements too. Is it really worth it ? I think its a way for them to take our money. Who can give me some advice on this ?

If that's the only place you can get the training, then it might very well be worth it. Just give it time, if the cert turns out to be lucrative, I'm sure alternative texts will be released instead of an insanely-expensive week long class.

New Horizons is more designed to appeal to corporate accounts.
Companies who are planning on rolling out an RFID solution would benefit from sending people there. I love the RFID and have written 2 papers so far on the benefits of it in my college. It will be in much demand but i doubt people will hire someone who has an RFID+ only.

ust search Amazon.com for RFID+. There are only a couple of books available now with several more to come later in the year.

'm always weary of places "helping with job placements".

I'm also weary of training centres that teach you a subject in a week and then expect you to write the exam.

How much hands on it done in the classroom? How many labs? Can you take home and practice the labs there?

$2500 is steep but considering it is new, probably average. Do they give you an exam voucher you can keep and write within the year?
