Microsoft announced a new MCTS certification exam titled "Deploying and Maintaining Vista Client and Office System 2007 Desktops" that was in beta from December 18, 2006 through January 10, 2007. There is no release date available yet for this exam.

I know....Vista goes out June 30th I heard on TV, so I should be ok.....I'm trying for February to get it done, and then upgrade before June.....

Holy crap it's busy.....we had nice virus on our network all last week, so I couldn't do anywork, and now I'm trying to get caught up. I'm getting there, but hell, I'm late for a appointment as I type this, so I guess...ehh, screw it, just a new guy...he can wait...lol

forgot to mention, other than that, it's great here. Hopefully, I'll be around for a while.....

I took the Security+ about a year ago, overall I think it was a useful cert and it taught me alot of general security concepts that I've used in my role as a network admin. The main drawback is that in many cases it's too general and doesn't really focus on HOW to implement such security measures. It's great to know what a PKI is, it's another matter to implement it successfully. Still some employers seem impressed by it, and it counts towards the security specialization of my MCSA so I only need one extra exam.
